Shed Happens Mackay, is calling for nominations for the award of International Men’s Day 2026 (IMD26) Mackay Man Of The Year. We wish to celebrate the contribution good men make to our society by recognising one man at our Celebratory Breakfast on Thursday 19 Nov 2026, International Men’s Day; a man who stands out from the crowd as one who displays the authentic quality of manhood.

The winner of this award will receive the following recognition:

His name engraved on the Mackay Man Of The Year Perpetual Trophy;
A personal trophy recognising his achievement

The prize package consists of:

Travel package to Bowen courtesy of Gallivantor Travel and 360 on the Hill restaurant
12 month membership of Muscle Garden Gym
$400.00 cash
Dinner for two at Roshni By Raj

Conditions of Entry

Members of the IMDMI Committee and Shed Happens Leadership are not eligible to enter.
Members of the Man Of The Year sponsor’s families are not eligible to enter.
The Judging Panel’s decision is final and not open to challenge.
The prizes must be taken as presented and are not able to be exchanged for money.
Nominations must be received by COB 30 Sep 2026
Finalists may be required to undergo a Police Check.
Finalists will be notified by 31 Oct and will be invited as guests at IMD26 Celebratory Breakfast on Thur 19 Nov 2026, where the winner will be announced.

not just movie stars and sports men but every day, working class men who are living decent, honest lives.
To celebrate men’s positive contributions to society,

community, family, marriage, child care, and to the environment.
To focus on men’s health and wellbeing;

social, emotional, physical and spiritual.
To highlight discrimination against men;

in areas of social services, social attitudes and expectations, and law
To improve gender relations and promote gender equality

without any form of bias
To create a safer, better world;

where people can be safe and grow to reach their full potential.
